We are looking for a technical writer with exceptional attention to detail and outstanding technical aptitude to create documentation that enables users to find answers right away, including questions they may not have considered. Working closely with key stakeholders in the Research and Development team, you will be involved with hands-on validation of hardware and software system components, to elicit technical operations which you will clarify through comprehensive, solid content tailored to our client’s needs.
You will have an uncanny knack for delivering technical (and often complicated) information into clear, plain English and be able to write easy-to-follow, concise, step-by-step instructions. Strong interviewing and listening skills are critical. You need to be confident enough to approach a variety of subject matter experts to extract information and be technically savvy enough to realise when you need to ask more. You can’t be too proud to ask the “dumb technical questions” that make engineers do double-takes.
- Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written English
- Superior questioning and listening skills
- Strong technical aptitude
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Critical thinking skills and a practical mind set
- Proficient computer skills, including Author-it, MS Office and Adobe suite
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
