gxStorAccess: Mobile-First Self-Storage Security Platform With ICT Protege GX Integration
A new integrated security and management solution, gxStorAccess has been built around ICT Protege GX, bringing access control, video, alarms and tenant interaction into a single mobile-driven platform for self-storage and multi-site facilities.

gxStorAccess combines ICT’s enterprise access control with cloud infrastructure, mobile applications and site management integrations, delivering a system that unifies operational control for managers while enabling self-service access for tenants.
At the core of the solution is ICT Protege GX, providing access control, intrusion detection and system logic across sites. This is supported by Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and MikroTik networking, forming a distributed architecture designed for multi-site deployments with centralised visibility and control.
The system is built around two mobile applications, one for operators and one for tenants, each delivering a tailored interface to the same underlying infrastructure. For managers, the platform provides live visibility and control of access points, alarms and video, while tenants are given controlled access to gates, doors and alarm functions via their smartphones.
From an operational perspective, gxStorAccess is designed to reduce reliance on manual processes and site attendance. Managers can monitor multiple locations, respond to alarms, control gates and review activity remotely, with a single dashboard providing visibility across an entire portfolio.
A key element of the system is its Just-In-Time interface structure, which presents relevant controls and information when an event occurs. When an alarm is triggered, operators are presented with live video, event history, site controls and contact information in a single view, reducing response time and eliminating the need to navigate multiple systems.
Video is integrated directly into the operational workflow, with live feeds available alongside access and alarm controls. Time-based scrubbing allows operators to move through recorded footage visually, enabling rapid verification of incidents without manual searching through archives.
Access control extends beyond traditional credentialing, with mobile-based interaction supporting tap-to-open functionality for gates and doors. For tenants, access is geofenced, allowing entry without leaving their vehicle, while maintaining controlled and auditable access.
The system also integrates with facility management platforms such as Storman and SiteLink, allowing tenant data, access permissions and account status to synchronise automatically. This enables real-time updates to access rights, including immediate lockout enforcement for non-payment, without manual intervention.
From a security perspective, communications are encrypted and managed over VPN connections, with MikroTik routers providing secure connectivity between sites and central infrastructure. Azure underpins system availability, with high uptime ensuring continuous operation of access control and monitoring functions.
ICT’s Protege GX provides the underlying scale and capability required for these deployments, supporting large numbers of users and doors across distributed environments, while maintaining a single management environment. The result is a system that combines access control, intrusion, video and tenant interaction into a unified operational platform, reducing complexity for operators while extending controlled access to end users.
