How we put these values into practice
Personal wellbeing is a key measure of success within our organization. With a focused mindset there is nothing we can’t achieve. To help alleviate stress, staff enjoy monthly neck and shoulder massages, weekly lunchtime yoga lessons, sit to stand desks, and subsidized gym membership. Flexible working arrangements are also accommodated wherever possible, and wellness dog Tess makes regular trips to the office.
We’re committed and hard-working but we like to have fun too. We have an active Social Club with regular events and we enjoy social sports outside of the office. During the working week there’s arcade games, table tennis, and even cornhole to stoke friendly competition. And did we mention one of our founders’ bakes? Most Friday’s you’ll find Rachael and her mother Pam manning a spatula ready to transform one of many secret recipes into delicious treats for the staff at HQ.
Respect for the environment is a value we take seriously at ICT. Kaitiakitanga, translated from Māori (an official language in New Zealand) meaning guardianship, acknowledges our responsibility as an ethical manufacturer to care for the world around us. Reducing our reliance on plastics in packaging, we’ve introduced 100% recyclable packaging and packing materials. Our offices operate green programs to recycle plastics and separate food waste for composting, working with certified recyclers who also operate sustainably, while an on-site garden grows fresh produce for our staff and their families to enjoy. And of course, our buildings all operate under our Protege GX system which has many features to help manage energy efficiency.
Collaboration is an important tool in our value chest that enables our success. At ICT we not only collaborate cross functionally and departmentally, but we also work with our customers to ensure our products are the very best and fit for purpose. Our Beta testing program and our active feature request review process puts our customers squarely in the driver’s seat. We value and respect the feedback we receive as this helps us grow.
